Dear all,
As we head into November the Village Centre has events and classes for everyone. Come and support the artists, musicians and small businesses who make Mt Eden such a great place to visit.
We are excited that Village Music has The Nairobi Trio here on Friday 4 November at 8.00pm for a show packed with real gems. Nairobi Trio have been described as New Zealand’s favourite Jazz entertainers and with thirty five years touring and performing around NZ and across the globe the Trio deliver an entertaining and engaging live show. The musical program includes skilfully crafted original material and reimagined standards, delivered in their inimitable style.
Nairobi Trio are Richard Adams (violin/vocals), John Quigley (guitar/vocals) and Peter Koopman (bass/vocals). As a special guest, Andrew (Saxman) Dixon will also join the group – truly one of our finest NZ horn players. As always, bring friends, bring family, bring your ears and BYO. Tickets are here.
Eden Arts present the Artists in Eden Christmas Special on Saturday 19 November in the Village Centre. Artists will be at work from 10.00am to 2.00pm with the traditional art auction from 2.30pm. On this special Christmas occasion artists will offer small works for sale throughout the day. All small artworks will measure no more than 200mm x 200mm and will be offered at the flat rate of $200.00 each. All sales will directly benefit the artists, with a higher than usual proportion of the sale price going directly back to the artists as an end-of-year thank you from Eden Arts. Join us for a fabulous day and the opportunity to treat yourself or that special someone, and support artists at the same time.
Mark your diary for the Auckland launch of exciting new adventure novel The Physician’s Gun on Thursday 24 November at 5.00pm in the Hall. Aimed at middle grade readers aged 11+ this is a gripping life-and-death adventure story inspired by the notorious Maungatapu Murders of 1866. Looking for something to inspire your young reader? You are all invited to this evening of ripping yarns and (mostly) true storytelling. It’s a chance to meet the author John Evan Harris and purchase a signed copy of the book, courtesy of Mt Eden’s Time Out Bookstore.
