Welcome to our new subscribers from last weekends Little Day Out event here at the Mt Eden Village Centre. Read on for what’s on in April.

Three Award-winning musicians join forces in a programme celebrating Friendship and Virtuosity this Saturday 13 April at 7.00pm. Eden Arts presents an Evening with Natalia Lomeiko (violin), Yuri Zhislin(Viola) and Sarah Watkins (piano) playing Brahms, Clara and Robert Schumann, Szymanowski and Shostakovich. Email info@edenarts.art to purchase tickets.

Kāren Hunter hosts a Mystical Sound Journey here in the Hall this Friday 12 April at 7.00pm. Come for a restorative experience that offers you a moment out of time to relax and be nurtured with medicine songs, sacred poetry, myth based story telling and healing music. The Mt Eden Craft Market is here on Saturday 13 April from 9.30am to 3.00pm. This is a great opportunity to support local craftspeople and find loads of beautiful handmade treasures and tasty treats, perfect for yourself or to gift. The Market are running a promotion this month so spend $10 or more per purchase to go into the draw for a $50 Farro Voucher. Facebook for more information.

Our kids and youth focused classes take a break over the school holidays and restart towards the end of the month. Check out the popular Baby Sensory classes for the little ones, and Pform and the School of Voice and Drama classes for those of school age. Te Kura ākonga/students also meet here during term time, more information and details are here.

Miss Auckland 2024 is supporting I Am Hope, a mental health charity, with their upcoming movie fundraiser on Friday 19 April at 7.00pm here in the Hall. The movie is Miss Congeniality, the hilarious and heart warming story of an FBI officer going undercover at Miss United States and learning a thing or two about friendship along the way. We celebrate the Albert-Eden and Puketāpapa Eco Festival here on Saturday 20 April from 10.00am to 12.00noon with some cool local Eco happenings. Learn practical tips for reducing waste and creating eco-friendly habits at the Zero Waste Workshop with Sarah from Use-d. Have a go at making your own Bicycle Tyre Belt with Lucas from Rebber. And drop in to get tips on Rat Trapping from the experts at Maungawhau Ecological Halo and pick up a free trap if you live in the area.. Charges apply for belt making only.

The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market is here on Saturday 27 April in the Hall and Lounge from 10.00am to 3.00pm and is Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market with natural therapies, on-site massage and more. The Timeless Preloved Fashion Market is in the Church on the same day from 10.00am to 3.00pm and has a focus on preloved, retro and vintage clothing and accessories.

Every Friday at 12.00noon, the Eden Arts Trust presents Music in Eden, a free lunchtime concert in the Church. The performing talent is amazing and it is a wonderful hour of music that will delight and uplift you. This Friday 12 April we welcome Madeleine Xiao and Henry Meng who are University of Auckland piano students of Sarah Watkins and Stephen De Pledge. Check here for regular updates. Koha welcome.

Looking ahead to May, you will want to buy tickets here now for The Loving Arms in Concert on Friday 3 May at 8.00pm. Presented by Village Music, it promises to be a great night out.
