We celebrate the International Day of the Older Persons with a Devonshire Tea and Bingo on Friday 13 October from 10.00am to 12.00noon, followed by live music with Music in Eden from 12.00noon to 1.00pm. Come along and enjoy the companionship and fun! All our community are invited including rest home and retirement village residents. It is free thanks to our wonderful supporters Albert-Eden Local Board, Communicare, Eden Arts and the Mt Eden Business Association. Our epic Bricks 4 Kidz LEGO® STEAM School Holiday Programme continues in the second week of the school holidays. The programme is perfect for 5 to 12 year olds and you can sign up for multiple days or just one. With hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths they will discover robotics and coding, conduct science experiments, and complete exciting master builder challenges! The Rest Assured Respite Trust are here on Saturday 7 October from 1.00pm to 3.00pm with Fiona Snijder, an experienced budget advisor from West Auckland Budgeting Service. It is hard living with an illness with the added stress of trying to stretch finances. The Trust welcomes all who are interested in hearing ways to help manage their financial resources. Looking ahead to Friday 3 November we have an evening of Brazilian Jazz with the award winning Nanny Assis Band. Fabulous musicians Nanny Assis, Maggie Gould and Kevin Field are just back from New York and will create a relaxing and uplifting evening of Jazz that will take you to Bahia Brazil and back to Mt Eden through Jobim, Stevie Wonder, Ella, American Songbook of Jazz, James Taylor, originals and some dance music.
