It is great to see Mt Eden Village buzzing with people in the warm weather this November. Join us here at the Village Centre for events and classes.

Tomorrow Friday 3 November at 7.00pm we have an evening of Brazilian Jazz with the award winning Nanny Assis Band. Fabulous musicians Nanny Assis, Maggie Gould and Kevin Field are just back from New York and will create a relaxing and uplifting evening of Jazz that will take you to Bahia Brazil and back to Mt Eden through Jobim, Stevie Wonder, Ella, American Songbook of Jazz, James Taylor, originals and some dance music. In 2024 Pform.nz are celebrating 10 Years of classes here at the Mt Eden Village Centre!! To celebrate this huge milestone and to give back to the community, they are offering a full scholarship for Term 1 2024 valued at $225.00. To go into the draw to win, email your application to info@pform.nz with the following information by 9 January 2024 – Subject: Mt Eden Village Scholarship, Student Name and Age. Winner of the scholarship will be notified via email. Performing Arts Classes are on Tuesdays at 4.00pm for Juniors, 5.00pm for Intermediates and 6.00pm for Seniors. 

The Rest Assured Respite Trust are here on Saturday 4 November from 1.00pm to 3.00pm with Grief Counsellor Claire Ferguson. During the course of our lives we can experience loss in many ways. Losing loved ones, losing a job, the loss of our health and dreams. Claire will talk about grief and loss and give practical advice on how to cope if you, or someone you love, is experiencing this. The sun is finally shining so get your wardrobe ready for the good weather at the Preloved Fashion Market on Saturday 25 November. Open from 10.00am to 3.00pm check out their preloved, retro, vintage, vintage clothes and accessories, live music and much more. The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market will be here in the Hall and Lounge at the same time. The Mt Eden Craft Market is here on Saturday 11 November from 9.30am to 3.00pm. Facebook for more.

It is time to mulch the wonderful 50 fruit trees in our neighbourhood parks, to get them ready for summer. The Mt Eden Village People need your help on Sunday 12 November from 10.00am to 12.00noon. Meet at the southwest gate of Melville Park (St Andrews Road) where the big pile of mulch is. More information is here.

The Annual General Meeting for the Trust that runs the Mt Eden Village Centre is coming up on Monday 20 November at 6.00pm. The Trustees warmly invite everyone to attend to hear about the Trust and what we do here at the Centre. Please RSVP via email manager@mtedenvillagecentre.co.nz. We will also celebrate the installation of artist Stanley Palmers Christmas Angel lights at 6.45pm. All welcome!

Looking ahead to December, we are celebrating the Artist in Eden Christmas Special here on Saturday 2 December. Artists will be at work from 10.00am to 3.00pm and will offer small works for sale as a nod to the festive season, with all works measuring no more than 200mm x 200mm and all offered at a flat rate of $200 each. This is a chance for the community to watch artists at work and perhaps purchase that special gift in time for Christmas.
