Join Auckland University Press to celebrate the new poetry collection of C. K. Stead In the Half Light of a Dying Day on Thursday 3 October at 6.00pm. C. K. Are you looking for Yoga with an established group of welcoming participants and an experienced teacher? You will find that here every Thursday at 9.15am with Matt Dennys and his Hatha Yoga Workshop. Matt has a focus on stretching, strengthening and relaxing and creates a great environment for beginners and long time attendees. Internationally renowned teacher and Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Rabten hosts a life-changing day course on Happiness here this Saturday 5 October from 9.30am. Gen Rabten is well loved for his sincerity, humour and inspirational teachings that easily touch our hearts. He will explain the methods that free us from negative attitudes, by looking for happiness and joy where it can be found – within our own mind. More information and to book is here.

We are excited that popular Baby Sensory teacher Kay is opening new Toddler Sense classes here on Wednesday mornings! The Toddler Sense programme is a Multi- Award Winning Australian and NZ programme offering your toddler a dynamic blend of Adventure Play Time and Structured Activities. Balance beams, jumping castles, tunnels and more sounds like so much fun you will want to join in! Class information is here and bookings are essential.

For those of us slightly more mature folk we have ThreeWay WisePlay here in the Lounge from Thursday 17 October for seven weeks of movement classes providing functional fitness for fun-loving seniors. Classes start at 1.30pm and entry is by Koha so come and give your body, brain and wellbeing a boost! ThreeWay WisePlay is adaptable and accessible for all levels of mobility, playing with seated, standing and floor explorations. The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market is in the Hall and Lounge on Saturday 26 October from 10.00am to 3.00pm and is Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market. The Timeless Preloved Fashion Market is here on the same day same time and has a focus on preloved, retro and vintage clothing and accessories. Both markets are here on the last Saturday of every month.

If you are a bus user, there are some changes coming to bus routes in the area, including the OuterLink, the 64 and the 650. Auckland Transport will be at the Centre on Wednesday 30 October between 12.00pm and 3.00pm, and Saturday 2 November between 11.00am and 2.00pm. Drop in any time during those hours to find out more about the changes and the AT team will help you plan your travel using buses. Find out more about the changes here.
