Join us on Friday 16 May at 8.00pm as VillageMusic brings The DeSotos back to the old hall after a good ten years for their Restless Heart Album Showcase. Their influences range from Neil Young and Tom Petty through to the Allman Brothers Band and New Orleans jazz and funk. With Paul Gurney on lead vocals, guitars and blues harp, Stuart McIntyre on bass and vocals, Ron Stevens on Hammond, keyboards and vocals, and Greg Tell on drums and percussion, this will be a great night. The much loved Eden Arts Music in Eden programme presents a wonderful hour of music here every Friday at 12.00noon. Pop in and enjoy music played by exceptionally talented musicians and view the art of the month display. Free to all, it is a great way to enjoy time in the Village and unwind any stress you may be feeling. We are grateful to the Eden Arts Trust for their commitment to this programme and the musicians and artists in our community. The Mt Eden Village Craft Market is here on Saturday 10 May from 9.30am to 3.00pm, just in time for Mother’s Day! The Market is an amazing NZ Handmade market with talented and passionate crafters you will enjoy meeting and admiring. If you have kids, the Mt Eden Village Business Association and Bricks 4 Kidz have another Date Night in Mt Eden Village here on Saturday 17 May! There will be FREE babysitting and activities here for kids 5+ between 6.00pm and 9.00pm for parents or caregivers dining at participating restaurants in the Village. Please register here and note proof of dining will be required on pick up.
The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market is in the Hall and Lounge on Saturday 31 May from 10.00am to 3.00pm and is Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market. The Wellbeing market is here on the last Saturday of every month from February to November. The Timeless Preloved Fashion Market is taking a break this month but will be back on the last Saturday of June.
The Light of Life Homework Club (Poako) was established in August 2024 with the purpose of providing an opportunity to assist and support the learning of students and youth in the Mt Eden Methodist Parish, and local community. Every Monday evening during the school term, students work with volunteer mentors on their homework and other learning activities. Mark your diaries for a Village favourite, Imagen8 are back for the Auckland Festival of Photography here in the Foyer from 2 to 13 June. Their exhibition Little eyes, big perspectives: Young photographers ages 8-18 showcase images that help us envision a world where humans, animals, and ecosystems can coexist and flourish, is always a popular event.
