April 2025

Dear all,

Join us at the Mt Eden Village Centre for a busy April of events and classes!

VillageMusic is back tomorrow Friday 4 April at 8.00pm for their 17th winter series of soirées and for their first show of 2025. They welcome back three favourite “virtuosi” to the old hall, for a convivial evening of funky musical fun. METEOR “Music From Another World” is the brainchild of Jonathan Crayford, who is considered one of New Zealand’s foremost jazz pianists and film composers. Joined by Mostyn Cole on bass and Maximilion Crook on drums, we promise a great night. Bring friends, bring family, BYO and bring your ears. Tickets here.

The kids have waited all year for the return of Little Day Out and thanks to all our supporters, it is back this Saturday 5 April from 10.00am to 1.00pm. We can’t wait to open our doors to the younger members of our community and see them enjoy the wonderful Free activities. Check out our programme here. Big thanks to our supporters the Albert-Eden Local Board, Foundation North, Ray White Mt Eden, the Mt Eden Village Business Association and local businesses and of course our wonderful volunteers.

We have the Auckland Somatic Dance Collective here on Friday 11 April at 6.45pm. Somatic dance is a guided free form movement journey deep into the layers of the body, supported by a carefully curated soundscape in a non judgemental space. Auckland Somatic Dance are a collective of certified somatic dance facilitators and DJ’s who regularly offer dances in Auckland. Follow them on Facebook here.

The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market is in the Hall and Lounge on the same day, and last Saturday of every month, and is Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market.

We are thrilled to have Amanda back for weekly Soul Me Up Hatha Yoga classes on Tuesdays at 6.15pm in the Hall. Hatha Yoga is practiced at a slower pace, focusing on integrating the breath and movement mindfully. On a physical level the focus is to increase your flexibility as well as challenge your strength. On an emotional level, it helps de-stress, reduce anxiety and encourages you to relax. All yoga levels are welcome and entry is by koha. Text Amanda here 027 446 3366.

Ngā mihi/Best wishes
