IMAgEN8 are here in the Foyer from Friday 5 June to Friday 12 June for the Auckland Festival of Photography. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 1.00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Everyone is welcome to the opening event on Saturday 6 June at 2.00pm. Their exhibition [the breathing earth: a study in motion]: Young photographers ages 8-17 invite you to slow down and witness the beauty of our living breathing planet that is always on the move, is always a popular event. International Piano Virtuoso and Yamaha Young Artist Eva Gevorgyan is here on Tuesday 9 June 2026 at 2.00pm for a Piano Masterclass with students from the University of Auckland. Eva is a laureate in more than forty international piano competitions and her recent season includes a tour in Australia with the Sydney Symphony, and collaborations with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Armenian Philharmonic, Göttinger Symphonie Orchester, Brussels Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Belgrade Philharmonic, Arkhangelsk Philharmonic and Tambov Philharmonic, among others. We are excited to be the venue for the 2026 Scrabble New Zealand Inaugural Australasian Open. Here on Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21 June for a 9.00am start, it will feature around 10 Australian entrants joining many of NZs top players for a 15 game showdown. The Auckland Somatic Dance Collective is here on Friday 26 June at 6.45pm. Somatic dance is a guided free form movement journey deep into the layers of the body, supported by a carefully curated soundscape in a non judgemental space. Date Night in Mt Eden Village is here on Saturday 27 June! There will be FREE babysitting and activities here for kids 5+ between 6.00pm and 9.00pm for parents or caregivers dining at participating restaurants in the Village. Registration is essential for these popular evenings. Proof of dining will be required on pick up. Date Night is organised by the Mt Eden Village Business Association and Bricks 4 Kidz.
Looking ahead to July, the Mt Eden Chamber Music Festival celebrates 11 years with four world-class concerts from Thursday 2 July to Sunday 5 July featuring some of the foremost classical musicians in New Zealand.
