It’s the International Day of Older Persons this Wednesday 1 October! Join Tracy and the Fall Prevention Team from 10.00am for Chair Yoga for Better Balance, followed by a Falls Prevention Workshop from 10.45am. Village Music have a busy October with Greg Johnson this Thursday 2 October at 8.00pm with limited tickets available and sold out on Friday. Then on Friday 31 October at 8.00pm The Nairobi Trio grace our old Hall with a Finalé to their 2025 NZ Tour. Both groups need little introduction and we recommend clicking now to get your tickets sorted! Greg here and the Trio here. What a fabulous way to head into the summer!
We have the Auckland Somatic Dance Collective here on Friday 10 October at 6.45pm. Somatic dance is a guided free form movement journey deep into the layers of the body, supported by a carefully curated soundscape in a non judgemental space. Auckland Somatic Dance are a collective of certified somatic dance facilitators and DJ’s who regularly offer dances in Auckland. Follow them on Facebook here.
The Mt Eden Village Craft Market is here on Saturday 11 October from 9.30am to 3.00pm. The Market is an amazing NZ Handmade market with talented and passionate crafters you will enjoy meeting and admiring.Find loads of beautiful handmade treasures and tasty treats, perfect for yourself or to gift. Kadampa Meditation are here with The Power of Mantra on Saturday 18 October from 9.45am to 1.00pm. Mantra means “mind protection”. Kelsang Lachpa will explain the meaning of mantra and provide guidance on how to combine mantra recitation with breathing meditation. More information and to book is here.
Yay! We host another Date Night in Mt Eden Village on Saturday 18 October! The Mt Eden Village Business Association and Bricks 4 Kidz have teamed up to provide FREE babysitting and activities for kids 5+ between 6.00pm and 9.00pm for parents or caregivers dining at participating restaurants in the Village. Please register here and note proof of dining will be required on pick up.
The Timeless Preloved Fashion Market is back on Saturday 25 October from 10.00am to 3.00pm. The market has a focus on preloved, retro and vintage clothing and accessories. The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market is in the Hall and Lounge on the same day, and is Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market. Both Markets are also here the last Saturday of November.
The wonderful Eden Arts Trust is a great supporter of the Arts in Mt Eden and Auckland. The Trust runs an amazing calendar of events including art talks, arts quiz nights, art Schools Awards, the annual Chamber Music Festival and free lunchtime concerts. The free Music in Eden programme is here every Friday at 12.00noon and is a great time to visit the Village for lunch, shopping and music to warm the soul.
