IMAgEN8 are back for the Auckland Festival of Photography here in the Foyer from Monday 2 June to Friday 13 June. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 1.00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm. Opening event Saturday 7 June at 2.00pm. Their exhibition Little eyes, big perspectives: Young photographers ages 8-18 showcase images that help us envision a world where humans, animals, and ecosystems can coexist and flourish, is always a popular event.
Back by popular demand and presented by Eden Arts is talented musical duo Gemma Lee and Charlotte Francis! The Francis-Lee Duo are here on Saturday 14 June at 6.00pm in a new programme featuring Brahms’ Violin Sonata No.1, Rebecca Clarke’s Midsummer Moon, Tango by Albéniz/Kreisler and De Falla’s Suite Populaire Espagnole. VillageMusic welcomes back Wayne Gillespie to the Old Hall on Friday 27 June at 8.00pm. The NZ Singer/Songwriter returns from Sydney with ‘The Famous Blue Raincoat Band’ celebrating his 40-year catalogue from his 80’s albums ‘Wayward Son’ and ‘New Locations’ through to his recent album FRAZZ and live favourites such as ‘Geriatric Blues’ off his current recording project Wayward Father. The Band are Nigel Gavin, Tony Waine, Paul Crowther and David Lines with special guests Caitlin Smith and Ben McNichol. What a special night! Tickets here.

We have the Auckland Somatic Dance Collective here on Friday 20 June at 6.45pm. Somatic dance is a guided free form movement journey deep into the layers of the body, supported by a carefully curated soundscape in a non judgemental space. Auckland Somatic Dance are a collective of certified somatic dance facilitators and DJ’s who regularly offer dances in Auckland. Follow them on Facebook here.
The Timeless Preloved Fashion Market is here on Saturday 28 June from 10.00am to 3.00pm. The market has a focus on preloved, retro and vintage clothing and accessories and is here on the last Saturday of every alternative month. The Mt Eden Wellbeing Market is in the Hall and Lounge on the same day, and last Saturday of every month, and is Central Auckland’s regular monthly mind, body and spirit market.

The Mt Eden Village Centre supports the Maungawhau Ecological Halo, part of Urban Ark Manawa Taiao. If you live within the Halo area, you can pop in and pick up a free trap and safety box to become part of the local community striving to protect the maunga and diversity of native bird and plant life in the area.
