DESCRIPTION:This traditional gala event of the Eden Arts calendar is held in March each year and brings together a large number of recognised Auckland artists who draw and paint “live” in Mt Eden Village. Artists in Eden is Auckland’s longest running art event of its kind and a fabulous opportunity to enjoy some of the art talent which is such an integral part of the Mt Eden community. Entry is free and the public is encouraged to chat to the artists as they work. \nThe completed works are auctioned the same day to provide funds for community arts initiatives. Around 40 visual artists take part every year\, alongside children’s art activities\, live music\, and the opportunity to win an artwork by a local artist in the raffle. It’s a great day for the whole family\, culminating in the excitement of a live auction at 2.30pm where there is a chance to purchase the works created. \nYou can watch Artists at work from 10.00am to 2.00pm and join us in the live auction at 2.30pm. \nAll information about Eden Arts is here www.edenarts.co.nz.

DESCRIPTION:The Eden Arts Classic Pub Quiz with an Arts Twist is a highlight of our social calendar\, gathering together the Who’s Who of the Auckland arts scene in a fun yet surprisingly competitive evening. \nRegular quizmasters Sue Gardiner and John Daly-Peoples fire questions about art\, music\, literature\, cuisine\, architecture\, film and all else arty\, to a crowd all vying for the coveted title of Winning Team. It’s a night of creative challenges\, spot prizes galore\, inventive team names and even some improvised song performances. \nOur first quiz was held in 2009 at the Balmoral Bowling Club\, its home for many years\, and we estimate that we have written and asked in excess of 1500 arty questions over the years. This CD\, their second\, is an album featuring NZ composers.\nThe Levansa Piano Trio are Sarah Watkins and Andrew Beer (NZ Classical Artists of the Year 2020) reuniting with international performer and competition winner Lev Sivkov.\nTickets are on sale now for this one-off Auckland concert which includes music by Martinu\, Claire Cowan\, Salina Fisher and Georgy Sviridov.
