Artists in Eden

This traditional gala event of the Eden Arts calendar is held in March each year and brings together a large number of recognised Auckland artists who draw and paint “live” in Mt Eden Village. Artists in Eden is Auckland’s longest running art event of its kind and a fabulous opportunity to enjoy some of the art talent which is such an integral part of the Mt Eden community. Entry is free and the public is encouraged to chat to the artists as they work.

The completed works are auctioned the same day to provide funds for community arts initiatives. Around 40 visual artists take part every year, alongside children’s art activities, live music, and the opportunity to win an artwork by a local artist in the raffle. It’s a great day for the whole family, culminating in the excitement of a live auction at 2.30pm where there is a chance to purchase the works created.
