Dear all,
As we head into Spring we have a busy August here at the Mt Eden Village Centre, including the return of the popular Mt Eden Wellbeing Market.
On Friday 12 August the Church at the Village Centre is part of trailblazing emerging artist Arahi’s debut “There’s Nothing Like It” Piano Tour. Those in the know will know an Arahi show is much more than mere music. Arahi creates immersive experiences to speak to your tender soul and linger round the corners of your mind long after he’s skipped town. In collaboration with Undergrand, Arahi comes to the stage paired back, pouring heart and soul over the keys of this exquisite snow white baby grand piano. Don’t hesitate … book now.
In partnership with the Mt Eden Village People, AKL Little Libraries brings you the Little Libraries Book Swap on Saturday 20 August. In the Lounge from 11.00am to 12.00noon, the public are welcome to take books, swap books, swap plant seedlings, donate food for our Pātaka Kai and more. Koha appreciated if not swapping. Updates are here. We have a Pātaka Kai here outside by the Lounge on Ngāuruhoe Street. A Pātaka Kai is a shared Pantry and Book Exchange – everyone is welcome to take what you need and leave what you can – fresh fruit and vegetables only please.
We welcome the return of the Mt Eden Wellbeing Market on Saturday 27 August from 10.00am to 3.00pm. The Market is central Auckland’s regular monthly mind-body-spirit market and is here on the last Saturday of the month. We know many of you are looking forward to seeing Peace and her team and enjoy their free, vibrant, friendly, health and wellbeing day.
The Mt Eden Craft Market is here on Saturday 13 August from 9.30am to 3.00pm. Facebook for more.
Put a “Spring” in your step and learn to dance at Street Swing, here at the Village Centre Hall every Tuesday evening. They offer social drop in West Coast Swing dance classes, no partner needed. Come along for some fun and meet lots of like minded people. Get out and have a great time – so go along – your first class is FREE! Check them out here.
Would you like to join the effort to enhance native biodiversity around Mt Eden/Maungawhau? Pop in during Office Hours Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12.00noon and we can show you how to set a rat trap and identify invasive weeds. If you live within the Maungawhau Ecological Halo area we’ll give you a FREE Trap and safety box. Check here. Thanks to Urban Ark Mānawa Taiao.
Ngā mihi
