For weddings in the church we charge $500.00 + GST; this does not include the cost of the celebrant. This fee includes access for one hour rehearsal the day before and the use of the church on the wedding day for two hours. Any extra time will be charged at our hourly rate of $96.60 including GST.
Wedding celebrant, use of the organ
You are welcome to arrange your own wedding celebrant. If you wish to book a celebrant from the Methodist Church to conduct the service or book an organist or discuss the possibility of bringing your own organist, please contact Rev Saane Langi the Methodist Church Lay Minister and Colin Waters, Organist for the Central Parish. There is no celebrant charge for church members of the home church congregation.
If you wish to hire the hall in addition to the church this will be charged at an hourly rate of $69.00 including GST. If you wish to hire the kitchen this will be charged at an hourly rate of $52.90 including GST. For the use of tablecloths we pass on a cleaning fee of $17.75 including GST for each tablecloth and $1.50 for stain removal. Depending on your booking we recommend using a daily rate or combined rates for hall and kitchen. Please contact us for a quote.
Confirm your booking
To confirm your booking please fill out our online hire agreement and arrange 50% payment of the bond ($250.00). The rest of the amount is due 10 days before your booking. Please note that the consumption of food and drinks is not permitted in the church. Food and drinks can only be served in the foyer, the hall and the lounge.
Parking - Where can I park
The parking on Ngauruhoe St is limited to 1 hour right outside the Centre or 2 hours further up the street and in a public car park, 200m away.
There is a clear way on Mt Eden Rd at 4pm-5.30pm however in most of the streets coming off Mt Eden Rd near the village there is free all day parking within a few minutes walk from the centre.
Setting up the room the night before
If we have no bookings you may set up the room the night before. You can have access from 7pm – 12 midnight with a charge for 3 hours use.
We ask you to leave the venue as you found it. It is the hirer’s responsibility to clean up after the event and cleaning has to be done within the time of your booking.
As we are in a residential area noise from amplifiers and loudspeakers must be kept to a moderate level at all times. Failure to comply with this condition may result in the early closure of your function or confiscation of equipment.
Candle light and smoke machines
No open fires, smoke machines, naked flames (this includes candles and kerosene lamps), BBQs or spits are to be used inside The Mt Eden Village Centre. If the fire alarm is set off by the use of these items then a charge will be incurred.
Sound System – do I have to bring my own sound system
For bookings in the church you can use our sound system including microphones. This is already set up. It cannot be used to play your own music and you are not able to change the settings. If you want to play your own music, please bring your own system.
